SMK - Smoked Meat Kitchen

Smoked Meat Kitchen - the name itself sound intriguing since I love things that are smoked. It's got a totally different flavour to it.
I was invited to try out their delicious selection of meats.

This is a small outlet, but their food is so good that you just can't get enough. Also, it is located beside the beach, so when the weather is cooler, it would also feel great to sit here.

From the name, you can tell that their speciality is smoking the meat. They started by smoking some beef ribs in front of us. Just watching it also was making us hungry. They torched it for about a minute or two. After that, the meat just came off the bone. It could also be cut really easily. We tried a bite, and were left wanting for more. It was soft, juicy, and full of flavour. When you order it, it will be served with celery slaw, and you can eat it with a spork (which I find an extremely practical invention).

We then had some chicken wings. These too were smoked right in front of us, but before that, they're glazed with bbq sauce. The wings tasted fantastic with the bbq sauce, and were juicy as well. They're served with some blue cheese sauce that adds even more flavour to it.

For light bites, they have some brisket onion wheels. These are like a meat patty. They tasted good by themselves, but after having the meats, I think my expectations had gone much higher, and this fell a bit short.

For lovers of potato, you've got the smk seasoned chips. This isn't the thin and crispy thing, but the thick one with some seasoning on it. It really goes well with the meat.

If you like you potato to be "loaded", then you've got the loaded seasoned chips too, that come with some bbq sauce, jalapenos, and chillies.

If all that meat goodness wasn't enough, we also had a smoked brisket. Just like the ribs, this is smoked until it becomes soft. They shred it and put it in a bun. So you've got one of the most meaty burgers that you can have. It's also got some bbq sauce and chillies. I personally liked to have just the brisket, but if you like it as a burger, then you can have the brisket bun.

If you don't like the soft bread, then there's also the choice of a smoking cubano. This is similar to the bun, but the bread is thicker - something similar to the one used for a doner kebab. The smoking cubano also has some jalapenos, and bbq sauce, and tasted pretty good.

We had some chicken tacos too. After all the meat, this was something totally different. Though it seemed like a bit of a misfit, it did taste pretty good and fresh. It felt like it had some yoghurt in it too (though not sure if it actually did).

For their drinks, we had cuddles on the beach which was fruity  and berrylicious. I would recommend trying it out.
There was another drink which I totally loved - the mango milkshake (that's what they call it I think). It sure had mango and milk, but it was like a slush and tasted way different than your regular mango milkshake. If you like milk based drinks, then give this a shot too.

The place doesn't have too many options, but whatever they have, is really really good, and I definitely recommend checking out this place; even more so when the weather is cooler.

The restaurant is located near Laguna aquapark in La Mer.
