Pastryology Dessert Cafe - Port Rashid

This is a really "sweet" place offering a wide variety of interesting desserts.
Let me first start by telling about the location though. It is located at the Port Rashid Harbour, and you get a fantastic view of the Harbour from here. It feels very calm, and as if you have come away from the city.

That being said, the approach road hasn't really been built (at the time of writing this blogpost), and while going there you might think that there is nothing here, or you have definitely lost your way, but keep going a bit further, and then you will see a patch of restaurants; that's where this one is located as well. I've added a customized map at the end of this post to make it easier for you.

I was invited for a tasting here, and the wide range of tarts and cakes got us really confused; so Bradley, their friendly manager suggested us their best ones.

We tasted 6 of their tarts (listed row-wise from top left)
Everyday Tart: This was a more traditional one. Had some berries and sweet yoghurt in it; was pretty good.

Crunchy pecan: This one wasn't bad, but it failed to shine in front of the others.

Kunafa Surprise: We did not quite like this one. It wasn't anything like what you have in mind when you're thinking of a kunafa. It might look like it from the outside, but it was a let down.

White Rose: This was really gooey, and more like a mini pastry. The taste of rose lingers in your mouth after you've had it. We really liked this one.

Delicate Lotus: You can't really go wrong with lotus. This was sweet and indulgent and almost everyone is sure to love it.

Espresso Rocky Road: I think it's safe to say that this was my personal favourite. It had a flavour of coffee that wasn't over-powering, albeit indulgent. Also, it was just slightly sweet, and a bit crunchy too.

Then we moved on to the cakelits.
Honeycomb lotus cakelit: One bite and you can feel the burst of lotus in your mouth as it just melts away. The presentation was nice too.

Fluffy carrot cake: This felt just about okay. Unless you're really crazy about carrot cake, I wouldn't suggest this one.

Nutella delight: It looked really tempting, and Nutella being Nutella, certainly lived up to it. We couldn't stop at one bite.

After all these sweet treats, we decided to try some of their coffees which also were very good. The Cortado (espresso with dense milk) was really nice, and I also liked the salted caramel one despite not being much of a caramel fan. Both were served with some nice coffee art on them.

The interiors are cozy and the pink & white theme give it a very "sweet" feel that goes well with the kind of food that is served here.

The ambience feels a tad bit girly though.

They also have outside seating if you're someone who likes to enjoy the weather.

If you want to enjoy some delicious pastries with a good view, then this is definitely the place to go.

The location on the map is accurate but since most maps don't detect that there is actually a road there, they tell you that you've reached the destination before you actually do. So here I have made a customized map that is interactive, and marked the road in orange on which you need to continue on order to get to this place.

Have a sweet visit.
