Parlour Botique - French Cafe
The name of this place was a bit weird and I was confused what to expect when they invited me to try it out.
When I went there, I was pleasantly surprised to see the lovely ambience. It was a tad bit girly but not something that would put off guys; it definitely felt classy though.
They have a lot of delicious dishes and especially when we saw the photos and the videos on the menu that's on a tablet, it looked really appealing.
We started with the healthy ones - an Acai bowl to start with. This had ample amount of fruits and granola in it. The fruits really tasted fresh and the berries complemented the flavours well.
For the avo lovers, the avocado toast is definitely worth a try. You can add your choice of egg to it. I added a poached egg - done medium. I small cut to it, and the yolk slightly oozed out. The avocado paste on the lightly toasted bread tasted great, and the watermelon salsa was refreshing and mildly sweet.
Being a fan of eggs, we tried out the parlour souffle three cheese omelette. This impressed me with the fluffiness that it had to it. The cheese certainly tasted good too. It felt a bit bland for my liking.
My favourite dish here has to be the salmon basque. The salmon was grilled to perfection along with some tomatoes, onion, and capsicum. It was soft (may not be the softest around, but soft enough). The tomatoes added a bit of zest to it but were not overpowering. If you're a fan of salmon you should not miss this one.
We called for some grilled vegetables too. They were rolled to look like flower buds. There was zucchini, carrots, squash, and mushrooms that were served on a piece of bread along with some salad. This dish looked quite appealing; it tasted good enough.
I can have french fries any time of the day, and we asked for some on the side. These were really crispy, and I just went on munching these.
They have a lot of cakes and other desserts for display; you'd be spoilt for choice. We asked the waitress for her recommendation and she suggested us the french toast. I was a bit surprised as to why this but she seemed a little adamant. It looked loaded and appealing when served, and sure enough, this was one of the yummiest ones I've had. Mind you this does not come with one of those famous sweet sauces that are sold in jars, but this had maple syrup, berries, butter, and cream. Me, despite not being a big fan of french toast, wasn't able to keep my hands off it. It isn't overly sweet, but the sweet and sour toppings made this one an indulgent treat.
This is the kind of place you would want to go on an afternoon and just relax. There is ample amount of natural light so the place is bright. The cafe had hardly a couple of tables occupied, and was quiet.
They also have free valet parking for two hours.
