This is a small, but catchy and trendy restaurant with a lovely decor located on Jumeirah road. They don't hav a big menu, but the food items are really good. 

 We saw the smokey jar fries on the menu, and after seeing some photos online, we couldn't help but order it. The fries are served in a beaker, with a LOT of cheese. They're loaded with smoky beef, colby jack, cheddar, and montery cheese along with caramel spicy sauce. There were also some crisps on the top. The fries tasted delicious of-course, but after a few bites it feels like a lot of cheese. If you're sharing then this would be ideal though. 

 Another one of the catchy dihes was the Smokey Trouble burger. Inside the squid ink bun, is a beef patty along with caramelized onion, pickles, mayo and more. This one is presented with smoke, and is covered with a lid which is removed whe served. The taste was pretty good, but could have been better. 


 To drink, we had the blue mojito. It had just the right amount of tang and fizz to it, and felt really refreshing. It is served in a flat bottom flask and look straight out of a chemistry lab.

This is a Brazilian brand which has 200 outlets worldwide and has recently started in Dubai with 8 outlets. They invited me to try out their outlet in Citywalk. Most of their outlets here are kiosks but this is a comparatively bigger one. The ambience is nice and they've used a green and purple colour scheme which gives a bit of a earthy vibe.  You can customize your acai bowl or smoothie with the various ingredients that they have.  We took one with Acai, chia seeds, almonds, hazelnut, and strawberry. It was nice and healthy, although colder than usual. If you have it quickly, you might get a brain-freeze.  In the other one we had acai with condensed milk, strawberry, almonds and chia seeds. I liked the flavour of the condensed milk in this one.  It's a good place especially if you like to have something healthy.  Click here to salivate

Humpty Dumpty - desi Chinese

This is a small place located in Karama, and my friends took me there. Initially I was a apprehensive as to how this place might be, but it didn't seem to be all that bad.  We were five of us, and moderately hungry.  We ordered the Schezwan sixer . This is a combo which contains 1 portion of each: fried rice, noodles, chicken gravy, soup, Chinese bhel, chicken lollipop . This costs just about AED 50. The above combo is also available in a vegetarian option which costs around 40 AED.   We started with the soup which I really liked. It was the manchow soup which was spicy and tangy. The chinese bhel was okay. It wasn't so crunchy, and neither did it have a very good taste.  The chicken lollipop wasn't too bad; it were fairly good. Baku food : What did I eat in Azerbaijan?

Azerbaijani food has a lot of Middle Eastern influence, and a lot of dishes are variations of those you get in the Middle East. There were a few good local restaurants I visited, and a few others too. I'm going to talk about all of these in this post.  The name of the dishes may be a bit different in Azeri (language), and some might just be a translation / description of the dish. You can click on the name of the restaurant to get the exact location.   Burc Qala [well known for Azeri cuisine]:- This is located in the heart of the city - Icheri Shehr (which means Old City). While walking through the old forts in this area, we came across this restaurant. The interiors feel really traditional. Also, a lot of shades of red are used. Here, I had the qutab , which is a very famous local dish; more of a snack. It is made from thinly rolled dough, and has filling inside. It usually has two variants - minced meat, and mixed greens.
