3rd avenue cafe - downtown dubai

This is a European cafe in the Fashion Avenue of Dubai Mall. It is located besides the upmarket brands, and hence gives a classy feel. The best part about it are the views. You get an amazing view of the Dubai Fountain form here. They also have outside seating from where you can see it. They had introduced some new items on the menu and invited me to try it out.

The menu is really extensive, and especially it is on the iPad with the photos you feel tempted to order just about everything. I liked the interior too; it has a white and maroon theme.

We started with some drinks - the Passion Watermelon and the Pink Lemonade. Both of them were really nice and refreshing; I really liked the fruity taste that they had.

For starters, we had the Millionaire's heat. I can define this dish as dynamite lobster. It was similar to shrimp, but even better. It had the right amount of spice level to it, and a bit of crunchiness too.

Another starter was the stuffed mushroom bites. If you're a mushroom fan, then you'll definitely enjoy this. These were served with two dips - pesto and arrabiata - which accentuated the flavours well.

I saw an interesting item on the menu which was the Emarati Risotto. I'm a fan of rice, and so obviously I like risotto. This one had Emarati flavours to it. It has a base of marinara sauce, and contains shitake, herbs, asparagus, garlic, and more. I found this one really delicious, and could barely keep my hands off it.

They had recently introduced the chicken tacos, and we had these too. The filling was not bad, but the tacos were soggy, and it didn't give the right feel to it. I think they need to work on the texture of this one.

They've got some really interesting desserts, and we wanted to have all of them. We finally narrowed them down to three. First one was the Emerald cake. It is a pistachio based cake, with pistachio sauce on the side. This one tasted pretty good, and had the right amount of sweetness to it.

The next one was the Smash. It is so called since you need to smash it. It is made form meringue, strawberry, and more. This one was okay; we were expecting more form it.

The last one was the best. It was a tiramisu served with a scoop of ice-cream. It is not a very fancy looking one, but the taste is top-notch.

I especially liked the place for the views. Of-course, the food was nice too.
