Sumo Sushi and Bento

I've recently started liking sushi, and I like the cooked ones more than the traditional cold and raw ones. These guys invited me and I decided to check out the innovative sushis from their wide menu.

This outlet is primarily for deliveries and take-aways as the seating area is really small, albeit clean and hygienic.

They've got a wide menu and we were confused what to order, so they suggested this dish from their "February Specials" which was called the XO XO Roll which is a small platter of 6 different sushis rolled into small spheres. They are salmon, shrimp, unagi, tuna, tobiko, and avocado. Each of them had a different taste and we really loved all of them.

For soup, we had the Tom Yum Nabemono which is a spicy sea-food soup with fish, prawns, and mussels. This had a very nice consistency to it, and a bit of a creamy flavour too!

The Rock N Roll shrimp is one of their best-sellers and we had to check this one out. The shrimp is deep fried in tempura and covered in spicy mayo. The shrimp was a bit smaller than usual but totally delicious.

They have quite a few platters too. These contain a selection of different items. We tried the Appetizer tray. This contains Karaage chicken, gyoza, edamame, ebi fry (fried shrimp), and harumaki spring rolls. The edamame were really nice. The ebi fry wasn't too bad either. The rest of the items were just about okay, and we didn't quite relish these. The platter contains 24 pieces in all.

We just had to try some more of their lovely sushis here, and so we ordered the Phoenix sushi. It has prawn and crabstick tempura which is topped with salmon and sweet chili sauce, and has crispy salmon skin for garnishing. This was mouth-watering, and I certainly recommend this one.

The other sushi that we had was the Alaska. It has salmon, crabstick, and avocado that is mixed with mayo. This was good, but the previous one was even better.

They have a good selection of desserts too. I'm a fan of good mochi, and we tried it here too. It was delicious and lived upto our expectations. There were two flavours - caramel, and strawberry.

An interesting item was the tempura ice-cream. This is vanilla ice-cream in a crispy panko shell. This one was good, but I've had better fried ice-cream.

Last but not the least, it was the divine carrot cake. It is topped with cream cheese frosting. This one was really divine and indulgent, especially since it was made fresh and served hot.

This place has a huge selection of sushis and lots of Japanese dishes. There is something for everybody.
