Sushi Express Cafe

I have recently become a fan of sushi and these days there are so many restaurants who're doing amazing stuff with Sushi. One such restaurant is the Sushi Express Cafe in JLT, and they invited me to check them out.

This place has sitting outside as well as inside and the lighting gives a very calm feel to the ambience. One of the first things that I noticed is that this restaurant has a washroom, and that is uncommon for restaurant in the Jumeirah lake Towers; there itself was a good start.

We started with the Salmon and tuna tartare salad. This also had some tomatoes and avocado in it and tasted really fresh.

We also had the volcano maki roll which is made from Salmon tuna tartare, avocado, cucumber, and topped with a mild spicy sauce. This one was really delicious and got over in no time.

We then moved to one of their Bento boxes - the Hakone Bento. This consisted of hot Udon, liver & chicken yakitori, chicken gyoza, avocado maki, California maki, salmon Nigiri, and also the seaweed salad of which I've behind a fan recently. The best part of a bento box is that all of the items have a different taste so you could taste little bit of everything in there. I really liked the sushis and tuna in this one, as well as the yakitori.

To get a taste of more of that Sushis, we ordered one of their mix Sushi platter which consisted of 24 pieces in total. This includes Nigiri, gunkan, sushi, and sashimi. This had various combinations of tuna, salmon, and avocado. I especially loved the ones with salmon. There were also a few pieces of roe maki in this platter.

You've gotta have Ramen when you're having Japanese food, and so we had the chicken Paitan Ramen. This is one of their chef's favorite items. It contains chicken, egg, ginger in a white chicken broth. The broth was really flavorful and we totally enjoyed this one.

We then had one of their rice - the Ankake Chahan - which is a fried rice with blue crab meat and vegetables infused with soy sauce.
This one looked better in the pictures though the taste was good nonetheless.

A meal would be incomplete without dessert and what better dessert then the famous Mochi balls. They come in assorted flavours, which are  strawberry, coffee, and green tea. I definitely recommend trying out their mochi.

Little they also got us some green tea in a traditional Japanese pot along with the mochi.

They also accept payments by Nol card here which I haven't seen too many restaurants do in Dubai.

The food, the service, the ambience just about everything was good here and it was fantastic experience overall.
