Seafood night at Mercure Barsha

This is a restaurant located in the Mercure Dubai hotel in Barsha and has a sea-food night every Friday. The buffet is around AED 175 (which also includes a shisha), and I was invited here to try it out.

This place had a large selection of sea-food items; whether it was the different types of grill fish, sushis, prawns, lobster, and even more, it seemed unending. The chef himself goes to pick out the fresh sea-food at the fish market, and so obviously you get the best that there is to offer.

The fish is grilled in front of you and they recommend you the sauces that it tastes best with.

They've got a huge selection of sushis. I tried a few and really liked them.

I saw oysters too, and this was the first time I had them, and it was quite good. They have some sauces / toppings which you can put, and then the flavour of the oyster would be mellowed down a bit.

On one side, there were freshly fried tempura prawns. They have this and wood-oven pizzas alternating every week.

Another dish which I tried here is the ceviche. It is a Latin American dish where the raw fish is cured in a citrus juice. If you like to have something zesty, you'll definitely like this. My mouth is watering as I write this.

If you aren't already overwhelmed with all of this, there is a selection of mains waiting for you.

I think the dish that I liked the best was the Seafood thermidor. It is a French dish that is creamy and cheesy, and often made from lobster meat. Definitely try this one out.

I also really liked the baked fish fillet with hara sauce. This is a little bit spicy, and has good flavours.

If you're a fan of the paella, they've got that too. This one wasn't too bad either.

If this was a lot of sea-food, they also have some spaghetti, and cold mezze like hummus, fattoush, etc.

For such a sumptuous buffet, there has to be a lovely sweet ending too. They have a good selection of cakes and other desserts.
One of my favourite was the opera cake which left a nice after-taste which was slightly bitter.

There is also the honey cake, date cake, lemon cake, eclairs, baklava, and lots more.

They have the non-smoking zone indoors, and the shisha outdoors. They have the "fresh" shisha too, i.e. with a fruit head (watermelon / pineapple). We tried this one but it was just okay. On the other hand, the regular grape-mint shisha was way better.

It was a very satisfying dining experience overall.
